Important Message as of Sunday, May 31, 2020
Thank you for your interest and support of Radnor Day Camp as we embark on a summer unlike any other we have experienced before! At this time, we have narrowed our focus on the delivery of camp for the summer 2020 to include Live, Interactive, Virtual Camp and Park-Based, In-Person Camp. Park-Based, In-Person Radnor Day Camp (PRDC)
As the Recreation & Community Programming Department continues to closely monitor the rapidly changing situation and information provided by the federal and state agencies including the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), the PA Department of Health, and the Governor of Pennsylvania regarding COVID-19, our goal is to deliver Park-Based Camp in accordance with the guidelines that have been put forth to the fullest of our capabilities. Park-Based Camp locations may be limited to Clem Macrone Park, Emlen Tunnell Park, and/or Warren Filipone Park/Bo Connor Park and you may be assigned to a location based on where you reside. Park locations may be subject to change and may or may not include certain amenities such as the playgrounds that may remain closed for the summer 2020. Park-Based Camp will be in an outdoor environment which is much different than our traditional camp at Radnor Elementary School. Outdoor conditions will not be limited to, and include, exposure to heat, sun, rain, wet playing surfaces, bugs, pollen and more. During days of extreme conditions, camp may not take place. Live, Interactive, Virtual Radnor Day Camp (VRDC)
A live, interactive, virtual option of Radnor Day Camp is currently being planned and may only be implemented based interest and is not guaranteed. Radnor Day Camp staff would plan a variety of engaging activities that would be offered and led live on Zoom in a private and secure format. Activities planned would be socially, emotionally, and physically stimulating to provide a fun and safe summer camp experience.
Our goal is to have more information available to you no later than the week of June 8th regarding anticipated dates, times, and other information. We realize it may still be difficult for families to make decisions right now about summer for their children - we here in the Recreation Department are in the same situation in making these decisions for our families with the uncertainty that still exists.
Once these details are finalized, registration will reopen here online. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any immediate questions or concerns or if you’d like to be added to our interest list.
Sincerely,Radnor Township Recreation & Community Programming DepartmentTammy Cohen
